In celebration of American Indian & Alaska Native Heritage Month, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) will host a commemorative event on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 9:50 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  The event will be held in the Great Hall of the Hubert H. Humphrey Building, located at 200 Independence Avenue, S.W., Washington, DC 20201.  The ceremony will feature remarks provided by George Sheldon,Acting Assistant Secretary, Administration for Children and Families (ACF) and Dr. Yvette Roubideaux, Director, Indian Health Service (IHS).   This event will include traditional Native entertainment, exhibits showcasing HHS Operating Divisions (OPDIVs) and Staff Divisions (STAFFDIVs), inspirational remarks, and a keynote address.

Parking and Transportation Options:

The Humphrey Building/Plaza is accessible via Metro at the Federal Center SW Station (Blue and Orange Lines). There are several public parking lots in the area with varying rates, as well as metered parking for a maximum of two (2) hours. Participants bear the cost of transportation and/or parking.
